So where was I, Oh yeah, starting from scratch.  The thing we need to ask ourselves is how do we preserve our society, the knowledge and our basic values?  How do we ensure that some semblance of civilization will survive?  Well lets explore just how long an ice age might last.  A very long , very very long time indeed.  Where would we live and wait it out?  How would we survive? What would we eat?  All very good questions.  We already have a seed depository to help recover in that area.  Only a very few people will survive to see the end of the next ice age. The survivors will crawl out of the ground or where ever they are able to hang on at. When the great thaw comes and we emerge into the daylight what will we find?  The ice age may last thousands of years, will humanity survive? I think it will, I think it has in the distant past and it can again, Just not sure how they did it.  For one generation maybe, for 10 generations? for 100 generations?  Maybe some divine intervention will be necessary, and maybe that too has happened before. well, those are my thoughts for today.

Well, this is my very first post here.  I started this blog to see if anyone else thought about this stuff. .  I am 57 yrs old and yes that is but a blink of an eye when you consider how long the world has been around.  But in my time I do feel the summers have gotten hotter and the winters don't seem to be all that bad.  All of this would make one think that the world will continue to heat up until everything just withered and died.  I don't think so.  I believe that it will get hotter but only until a point. At that point something will happen, a large volcano eruption, multiple eruptions, an asteroid, or even world war III ending with nuclear war.  Any of these things will plunge the world into the next ice age.  I don't think it will start slowly, it will begin with a vengeance and snow and ice will cover everything.  Anyone left will starve or freeze to death unless precautions have been taken.  The glaciers will once again advance across the land.  I believe this sort of thing has happened multiple times, who knows how many times or how many civilizations have come and gone.  The governments are aware of this possibility and they have made arrangements to save the "ELITE".  Have they actually contemplated the duration they will have to survive.  Will something like this happen in my lifetime, I do not believe so but it is going to happen soon, the Earth can not take much more and the population will only increase.  I believe other civilizations saw the writing on the wall, they were possibly much more advanced than we are now and they were unable to do anything about it.  Somehow, some peoples or groups of peoples were able to survive to repopulate the species but over time the past and history was lost.  So in effect it was like starting from scratch.  Well enough for now. thank you
